Shameless Plug

Before E-mail there was D(doggie)-mail.

Especially funny since the neighborhood dogs actually use our mailbox....

Lots of e-mail is a lot like d-mail! But I'm just like that dog; can't help checking.

It's that intermittent variable reinforcement that's so compelling....

Thanks, stray and linda.

Now I'm picturing some dog detecting strangers at "his" plug andt thinking spam again!?

stray's second comment (if I've interpreted it correctly) makes me think of the lab experiment where rats were trained to press a bar to get a goodie. Scientists found the rats were more eager to hit the bar if it only sometimes gave them a reward.
The rats hit the bar, the dogs hit the hydrant, and we hit the "check mail" button. Repetedly.
