Chinatown

Charles Phoenix's "Disneyland" tour of Downtown Los Angeles made a stop at Chinatown.
The original Chinatown was demolished long ago to make room for Union Station.  This one, so I hear was built by movie set designers.
It smells (and sounds like) firecrackers.

This was once a restaurant.  Now it's a gift shop.
Check out the details in the paint!

I fell in love with this boar.  I'd have bought him if I had a place to put him.

Alert the fire department.  There's a cat in the tree!

That tour looks pretty interesting!

GREAT pictures. You could send that last one out as a Christmas card. The frames add to the fun.

Namo, I love your photos. And you're on to something with the borders on the last 2. What Sally says about cards would be lots of fun.

Hi GhostBuild,
It is quite interesting. I saw a lot of places I'd only heard of before.
That's the case with the next blog entry too. It's about the same age as Union Station and China town, but less famous...
...and much stranger.

Thanks, Sally.
I borrowed the look from similar patterns I've seen on Mexican folk art. Seems to work well for Chinese stuff too.

Thanks, Linda,
More are on the way!
