Speaking of colors, it would be cool if there was a flash application that scattered the color choices in a color wheel instead of bricked up in a box. I hunt and peck to get the color I need. For example, lets say I want the blue to be darker and less saturated. Color x might do the trick... ...whoops, too purple. Let's try color Y... no, too light...

I would believe the time you spent deciding on the colors and placement of the stars. It looks great; you're just sick of seeing it.
There is a color wheel. If you go to the color palette (not the swatches palette) and you click on the "fill color" box next to the paint bucket, a small color swatches box will open, but on this one you will see a tiny color wheel at the top far right. If you click on it, you'll have your color wheel. You're not limited to the web palette that comes up under the main "swatches" panel!!!!!!!

I forgot about the secret color slider in flash. I'll bet there's a way to make my own custom color set instead of the "web-able" palette.

Namo, it's more than a slider...it;s a huge color wheel (if you stretch it out). And duh! You can access it from the plain old tools palette if you click and hold either the paint bucket or the pencil at the bottom. Then you move the little dot over the circle til you find exactly the right color out of trillions. When you find it, click OK, and move the paint bucket to your pallette to add that color to your swatches palette. If it turns out to be the wrong color, just delete it. So it's easy to make your own palette.

What version of Flash are you using? Instead of a wheel I get a square color picker (which is still way better than selecting those swatches).

That standard Flash palette is a holdover from back when computers could only show 256 different colors at the most, and so that chart of 216 web-safe colors was used as a web standard. (There were 40 more, but that's all.) It IS interesting--but not necessary at all any more because, you know, computers can now shoe millions of different colors.
Interesting how so many things default to obsolete settings. Like the qwerty keyboard...
...and I'm still trying to figure out how you get a wheel picker and I get the HSV block.
This is fun!! (You can always call me) . . . but when you go under "window" at the top, and open that Color palette, go over to the drop-down menu on the right hand side and make sure you have RGB selected instead of HSV.
