Flash Carnival

Part of the Flash cartoon I'm working on takes place at a carnival.  I'll need some carousels and twirling rides in the establishing shots- not the easiest thing to animmate in 2d.
Above are "test rides" created with the help of a Flash plugin called swif.t3D Xpress.   I added a cartoony bounce to the second ride using regular motion tweens.
These examples are a bit too mechanical and complex for the final cartoon, but I had fun making them!

Admit it... you miss your Second Life ;-)

These look fantastic Namowal!

Funny thing, the first things that came to mind after seeing these animations were the Edifice Rex competitions...

Good call, Ghostbuild.
They're built much the same way- take some semi organic shapes, duplicate them, rotate one group 180 degrees, select all, duplicate, rotate the copy 90 degrees etc...
Lumiere Noir taught me this.

Say, have you seen him lately? How's he been?

those are neat. tough on my old computer's processor but it can handle it. They have an art nouveau feeling. Imagine doing that straight, ack! (By straight I mean without the program.)

So glad the cartoon is proceeding! YAY!

Thanks, Stray, Sally.
I was going for an art nouveau look- to make them distinctive. Doing something like that without 3D help would be a nightmare!
Thanks for the encouragement. I have a large percent of the blocking and rough animation done. There's a few parts where I'm drawing blanks as how to fill them in. How do you handle artist's block?

Lumiere has been super busy. Now that he has the Tower of Prims learning facility is covered by Linden Corp, he started a private sim elsewhere.

OH NAMO, I missed this post somehow! What a treat!

Artists Block: It seems as if you've been working really hard lately, lots of hours. Maybe the best thing is to take some time off (?) Don't even try for a little while(?)
We'll wait for you.

Thanks, Linda.
Actually my "artist block" only applies to a small segment of my flash cartoon- I can't figure out what to put there. Ideas for my regular art are as reliable as junk mail (but hopefully more fun)

They play like a dream!! Do you think you can or could make that happen in CS4? Isn't there a 3D ability?

Good question, Boodababy.
I only have CS3, so I'm not sure.
(Glad you liked them. Thanks!)
