Nunchuck Kitty

The next Drawing Board entry is "Nunchuck Kitty." I know a cat with nunchucks is obvious. What else could I have done? Hello Kitty with nunchucks? Nunchucks shaped like a cat?
The idiosyncratic caption a homagoof (homage + goof) of the silly cat pictures from the internet.

Flash Doodle: Blockheads.

Here's a Flash experiment I did using shape tweens (I usually use motion tweens.)
The art's a bit derivative of Linda Davick's work. I wasn't trying to steal her look but it happened. Don't sue, Linda. ;)

Jenny Made Her Mind Up

"The Saga of Jenny" is one of my favorite songs. It was written for a show called Lady in the Dark, and appears here from a 1968 movie called Star! which I'd never heard of until this morning. That's Julie Andrews doing the singing.

Flash Doodling

I was fooling around with different settings and techniques and got this guy.

GpCS3 Goes For a Walk

I didn't have much spare time this weekend, but I did get a crude walk in.
One of those "I'll know what not to do next time" efforts.

Mom's Mad

I'm visiting my folks. Mom's mad at Dad.

Mom: What are we going to wear tonight?"

Dad: It's still warm. We can wear our summer pajamas.

Mom: No! What are we going to wear?

Dad and I were confused until she came to the cupboard, grabbed the vitamin jar and said "Isn't this what we usually wear?"

Dad : Oh, you mean what vitamins we take.

Mom: You say things like me like I'm stupid! (storms outside)

I swear there's an "I'll show you" gene on her side of the family. She knows if she stomps out of the house that we'll worry about her. Her mom was the same way. Worse. She'd get mad at her husband and vanish for days.
"They're really a lot alike," I told my dad, recently. "Stubborn, paranoid, and quick to strike back at any real or imagined offense. "Will I end up like that too?"
"Not for a long time" Dad said.

Guinea Pig CS3

I created this guy for fooling around in Flash CS3. I'm still not as far along as I'd like to be (no walking yet), but I haven't posted in awhile, so here's one victim of my diabolical CS3 experiments.
Then I roughed him up in Painter. I like using jpeg artifacts as a texture. I bet this becomes more common in pop art, as does 8 bit color dithering. Yesterday's artifacts are tomorrow's edgy* look.

The Dust Bunny

This is made for The Drawing Board, which is relaunching soon with a new theme (Dustbunnies and other Mythological Household Creatures).
Sorry there's no new animation. Flash CS3 isn't being cooperative. A lot of my old keyboard shortcuts and tricks don't work there. (If any of you know how to bring in an animated graphic symbol from the library into the work area without losing the animation, please let me know.)

I Love the Crocodile

I found my favorite scene from Peter Pan on You Tube. I love the Crocodile. He's a dangerous beast, yet cute and puppylike. He wags his tail and begs. I like the part when he surfaces, sees Captain Hook on his face, and breaks into an evil grin.
Wolfgang Reitherman animated the Croc. He did wonderful action sequences. Each time you think it couldn't possibly get more silly (or precarious) it does!

Uber Space Nerd!

Sorta.
I'm a bit annoyed that I only got 70% on the science part. The shame!
On the other hand, show me a picture of something in space and I can can probably tell you what it is.

The NerdTests' Space Test says I'm an Uber Space Nerd. What kind of space nerd are you? Click here!

Along Comes Mary

This was originally a quick sketch I did when "Along Comes Mary" was on the radio.
It became a not-so-quick-sketch.
I like this song. Some people say that song is about marijuana but I think it's way too manic. It's all over the place. Like a sugared up kid in a bounce house.
Since the lyrics don't make much sense, neither does the picture.

Cold Oatmeal

I was working on her crossed arms when the 5.4 quake hit.
I got in a doorway, but nothing even fell over.
I drew this because someone suggested "cold oatmeal" be the theme for the latest Drawing Board (A picture blog my friends run) post. Since then, the topic has fallen out of favor, so you'll only see it here.
